How to post images on front page of suburbia
Hi, can anyone help me with posting images on my new blog? Is there a step-by-step guide to using the Suburbia theme?
The blog I need help with is fernandaviveiros.wordpress.com.
1) Go to your dashboard
2) Posts >> Add New
3) Enter as title of your post and write something in the big white box
4) Now click the first icon on top of the editor window to insert your photo. the icons look like this:
Save everything and view it in your browser.
Thanks for your reply. I did as you said but the images are not appearing on the home page/front page. They only appear when you click onto the text which takes you to another page–and it’s there where the image appears.
I want the front layout of my blog to look like the demo version of suburbia but right now it doesn’t look like much at all. I have it set as private as I don’t want anyone to look at it until I officially launch it this weekend.
You need to set a featured image to each post. Click the Add Media button, upload from your computer or select from the media library, ignore all options, click “Use as featured image” instead of “Insert into post”.
The featured image will show up in the Featured Image module of the editor. If you’re not seeing the FI module while on the post editor screen, click Screen Options (top right) to activate it.
Thank you for your help! This worked perfectly.
Sorry, I have another question about posting images on the home page… How can I make an image larger so that the post stands out as the feature post on the home page? Right now, all the images are identical and the posts are defaulting to a five column grid.
By marking the post as a sticky. See here as well:
Thanks, it worked!
