Hi, I’m starting a blog to document a round the world trip.

What I’d really like is a map, displayed on my blog, which shows the progress of my journey. I’m not sure how this would work or even if anything exists to achieve this but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Will this suit you? http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/platial-mapkit-widget/

If not then do be aware that as wordpress.com is a multi-user blogging platform security is a high priority so we do have code restrictions.

    Thanks guys, much apprecaieted.

I did see the Palatial Maps and Google Maps options previoulsy but I guess what I’m looking for is just a little more…

I want to be able to RECORD each of my locations as I make my journey and then somehow, have this journey displayed on the map.

For instance, if I travelled from Boston to New York and then New York to Washington, the map would show each location that I’ve visited (maybe with a picture or comment, etc), and also maybe with a line connecting the locations?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mark

You’re welcome, and yes we got the question. Go to http://maps.google.com/ , click “My Maps” and check the tutorials that will show up.
