How to remove background from post & add social media icons

  1. Hello. The blog I'm working with is I can't figure how to remove the gray background from the posts. I checked with Firebug but it only shows the individual posts. Also, is there a widget or something to add social media icons to the blog? The theme I am editing is Cheer.

    Thanks in advance.

    While being far from an expert in this realm, I can only share what I have done to add social media icons.
    I add the icons to my medi library and then install the text widget and place the images/links in the widget.
    I don't really like the results as well as some other solutions I've seen, but this how I have done it until I can figure out a better solution

    Hope that helps

  4. Thank you sooo much! That totally works for me! Now if I can just get rid of the gray background behind the blogroll, we're set!

  5. @bijou,

    Add this to your custom CSS area:
    .custom-background .hentry, .custom-background .widget, .custom-background #comments, .custom-background .page-header {<br /> background-color: #FFFFFF;<br /> }

    You can use an image replacement technique, where you're adding text links and then using CSS to replace the text with your images. You might find this helpful. Use one of the 2012 options.

    Hope that helps!

  6. Problem fixed! I really appreciate you both taking the time to help me :)
