How to remove email follower from my blog

  • An email folower to my blog has asked to be removed. I was able to find the person in Site Stats but don’t see how to remove him. Help.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Apologies to andrewcpht for the suggestion, but I must be too thick to get it. Before directing the visitor to the link I tried it myself, First try took me to a page that was short on instructions and I gave up. Second try took me to the WordPress.com login page, which also left me perplexed.

I ended up sending the visitor the following instructions below. As of this morning the person’s name still appears in my site stats as a subscriber. I’ll wait for another few days for visitor to unsubscribe.

Any other suggestions or corrections to my instructions below welcome.

My instructions to the visitor —
Re your request to be removed from Citizen Action Monitor, you must do that yourself by following these instructions —
1/ The next time you receive an email notification from my blog, open it and scroll to the bottom of the post where you will find this message: “Unsubscribe or change your email settings at Manage Subscriptions.”
2/ If your Internet browser is not open, open it.
3/ Click on the hyperlinked words “Manage Subscriptions”. This will open a page in your browser that contains your email settings for my blog.
4/ Find my blog name “Citizen Action Monitor” on this page and point your mouse cursor at it
5/ The word “unfollow” will appear immediately below the blog name, Click on “unfollow”.
That’s it. You should not receive any more email notices from my blog.

  • @fjwhite: Those directions should work fine. The page I was referring to is where you Manage your subscriptions. You may have been directed to log in to WordPress.com in order to manage them, though. Once on that page you can simply unfollow the blog you no longer wish to follow.

  • Thanks to andrewcpht for assistance. Consider this topic resolved although the visitor in question remains subscribed to my blog and has yet to take action on the unsubscribe instructions provided.

  • Subscribers/Followers can only unsubscribe themselves. If they are having trouble with the above instructions, they can also unsubscribe from the unsubscribe link provided in any email they received from your site.

  • My blog site is seniormedaids.com

I found this information helpful. However, my main problem is my blog is sending (4) four emails at a time about the same notification of a new post.

Please check this out for me, I am still having this problem with my comments on my blog, I want to keep these potential customers etc.

I want to only send (1) one email not (4) four.

If this allows them to stop receiving the notification of a new post all together, does not solve my problem.
