How to remove my original home page after adding a static one

  • Hi, I know I must be missing something really obvious but here’s my problem:

I decided that I wanted to have a static home page so I created a new one and made that static and created a new blog one (entitled Captain’s Blog). Now I know I need to delete the original home page but I can’t work out how to do that. If I pull up all my pages it isn’t listed, so how do I access it so that I can delete it? What am I doing wrong that is stopping me from seeing it?

    I’d really appreciate any help.

    Thanks

  • Since you blog is set to private I don”t know what theme you are using, so all I can do is outline all the possibilities.

    1. Follow the instructions here to hide one of the “home page” tabs: http://support.wordpress.com/pages/hide-pages/ .

    2. If your theme supports the custom menu feature in the top navigation create a custom menu and then include only the pages you wish (along with your new “home” page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ .
