How to “select all” parent & child categories

I feel really stupid asking this, especially since I’m a quick study and have figured out quite a few things already, but haven’t found an answer on the forum so far. I’ve added new tags & categories, one or two of which I want to add to ALL my posts. For instance, the blog is all about Art and Creativity so makes sense to tag or categorize each post that way. However, three things:

    1. I can’t figure out how to do a “select all” to perform the bulk action (blush)
    2. I haven’t found how to nest several categories under a new parent as a bulk action.
    3. Is there a way to have the same child categories under different parents?
I’m guessing the answer is “no” but hopeful there is a way around this.

The blog I need help with is

    1. Posts>Edit: select all posts shown on screen by ticking the “Title” box (top left), select “Edit” from the Bulk Actions” dropdown, click Apply, tick category or type tag, click Update. If you’ve got many posts, repeat for next page of posts; or click Screen Options (top right) and type an appropriately high number in the number-of-posts box before doing the bulk editing.

    2. Not possible.

    3. No.

I knew it would be a simple thing… thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
