How to upload a PDF?

  1. delaneydiamond

I used to be able to upload a PDF failry easy using the media button. In the past I've uploaded the first chapter of my books, so all visitors have to do is click on the Chapter One link and they can read it.

I tried uploading the first chapter of my latest work, but it wouldn't work. Each time I did, when I clicked on it, it took me to another page on the blog, where there was another link, which I then had to click to get to the PDF. Anybody else having such problems with uploading media? Any suggestions on how to resolve it? I can't think of anything I'm doing wrong compared to the last few times I've done it.

  2. It sounds like your link is getting put on an "attachment" page made for images. Are you using the "add an image" icon, or are you using the "add media" button in the editor? You should be using the "add media" button (spiky circle) for PDFs, docs and such.

Thank you! It worked. I was missing the step where I had to click File URL. I don't remember having to do that before, but I must have. It worked. Thanks so much!!

  4. You are welcome.
