HREF targets obscured by Navigation Menu bar

I requested help on this problem 3 years ago:

A member named timethief replied “This thread has been flagged for Staff attention.” And a Happiness Engineer named macmanx said “Yes, we’re aware of the issue and it is on the list of things to fix.”

8 months ago, seeing that the problem was not resolved, I again requested assistance:

Timethief replied, “I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up and update.” And Happiness Engineer rachelmcr said, “I just reported it to our developers again to make sure it’s on their radar.”

The topics have both been closed without further activity. Any chance the third time’s the charm?

POSTED TO FORUMS ON Apr 16, 2012, 4:19 PM CDT:

When I use the HREF tag to direct readers to another part of my post (a footnote, for example), the place I’m directing them to is hidden by the Navigation Menu bar. They have to scroll up to see the target. For anyone logged into WordPress with a Navigation Menu at the top, this is a problem.

My recent post on the subject demonstrates the difficulty.

    Can anything be done?

Thanks for your explanation in the post “Example of Navigation Bar Problem” of how the WP navigation bar blocks the destination of a link. I’ve noticed this effect primarily in forum posts in which I link to other forum posts. I suspect the problem is multiplied here, because there are two bars, black and blue, blocking text.

I’ve made another note about the issue on the bug report rachelmcr submitted earlier. I’ll let you know if there are any updates.
