    How do you get rid of the blank line that appears between a regular line of words and bulleted line? I’ve tried the tip here but it doesn’t work for bullets. And I don’t have CSS, by the way.

    The blog I need help with is recallandrelay.wordpress.com.

    Please post an active link starting with http:// to an example in a post or page so we can see exactly what you mean.

    There’s a whole lot of blank space separating the bullets from the first line.

    this is the code found in the HTML editor:

    Line of words and such.
    <ul>
    	<li>Bullet</li>
    	<li>and</li>
    	<li>unordered</li>
    	<li>list</li>
    </ul>

    Can you see why there is a blank line now?

    Um, because of the ‘

      ‘ ?
      How would you format it so that the blank line is gone?

    uh, “ul” in angle brackets was supposed to be in the quotes

    Oh, do I just get rid of the ul part completely?

    Getting rid of the ul part didn’t work

    Of course it didn’t. It’s required to tell the software to start an unordered list. Just a is required to tel the software to end the unordered list.

    Just as </ul> is required to tell the software to end the unordered list.

    You could accept the fact that the code is working properly and focus your attention on creating content.

    Haha, okay. I was just wondering if there was a way to get rid of it.
    Thanks, anyway.

    There’s blank space before a list because the text that precedes it is a paragraph. To decrease the space you need to decrease the bottom margin of that paragraph, for example:
    <p style="margin-bottom:4px;">Line of words and such.</p>
    Change the number to adjust.
