I bought a nice theme, and now what?

I bought a very good looking theme with all the things I need, thinking that I would have simply to change text, images, menu and do some little coding.

OK, I’m new to WP world but I’m experienced with HTML and web design.

    So now what?
For instance, my theme has a nice About us page, with a right side bar, divider, team members thumbnail, Read more links, etc.

How can I apply these feature to my page?

Is there any general documentation or tutorial available about this topic?

I know that I have to ask the author…. but so far I didn’t get much help from him….

For starters we need a link to the blog you are asking about to give you accurate help.

If you are really hosted on WordPress.COM then your next step is to ask for a refund from the company that sold you the theme as you are limited to the 150++ themes you can see in your Dashboard – that is a security and reliability and functionality reason – the themes here are highly modified to add functions for WordPress.COM (see the more than a boat load of Widgets with all sorts of nice functions)

I’m testing my ThemeForest theme locally with XAMPP……

I would be happy to find a Tutorial or similar to know best way to move within WP dashboard and custom options of the theme.

For instance, I can’t setup correctly the frontpage slider supplied with Curio theme..

Where I could find a step by step explanation about setting up a slider?

To be crystal clear this support forum is only for free hosted WordPress.com bloggers. You cannot get support for a local install here. You must post to http://wordpress.org/support/ for support.

Also note that there is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

On free hosted wordpress.COM blogs we can only use the themes which have been coded to run on this multi-user software and made available to us here. > Appearance > Themes and no others. We cannot edit either themes or templates on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

    OK, got the message.

    Thanks for informing.

You’re welcome and I do wish you well. :)
