I cannot view my stats

I cannot view my stats. I run a secure setup (https and encrypted browser and will continue to do so) and this seems to block the page: https://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/ from displaying any information.

Is there a stripped-down version (like the old page that I used to be able to view) or is the only alternative to use an unsecure browsing option to view site stats?

I have a screen capture so you can see what I see (i.e. nothing) for a possible workaround.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The blog I need help with is tthurts.wordpress.com.

It’s a bug I notice with Firefox at least, and for me clicking to the Weekly views and then back to Daily makes the stats display. See if that works for you.

Thanks for your help and for replying to my request raincoaster.

Unfortunately I don’t even get to see weekly or daily views as javascript is disabled on https pages and I believe the options for views are displayed in the grey box that would contain an option menu.

All I get is the main stats screen with the tabs: ‘New Post’ ‘Reader’ ‘Notifications’ ‘Stats’ ‘my blog’ & ‘Freshly Pressed’ but just an empty grey box below it.

No worries & thanks again for your help. IMO this difficulty I’m having is something that WordPress admin and developers should be on, rather than the community in general as they will have more input to address these issues by updating the script. This would assist bloggers who wish a secure way to write without disabling some of the more statistical functions of WordPress.

My stats are not displaying with Chrome, but they are with Firefox. It’s annoying since I prefer to use Chrome.

Clicking to Weekly and then back to Daily didn’t work for me.

I am not experiencing any trouble at all using FF16.

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are, please do these four things:

    1. Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/

    3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.

    4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

If you are not successful let us know which browser (and version of it) you’re using and post any error reports you get.

You have already posted into another thread. Please don’t post into multiple threads on the same issue. It confuses us and you are more likely to fall through the cracks than to get help if you do that.

Hi @timethief – thanks for taking the time to help me.

I am using TOR and TOR Browser as I take security and identity protection very seriously.

There is no way I will change to a more compatible browser at the expense of security. – I’d also recommend bloggers to use it if they publish politically sensitive posts or live in countries/regions that are censored (e.g. PRC, Iran).

WP used to show stats using the Firefox extension to its browser. The Firefox browser has been shown to be security impaired, so it has been dropped by TOR recently. Now it runs with its own TOR browser.

WP has just announced it is accepting bitcoin (a crypto currency) for payment to make upgrades to domains that use the WP script. Bitcoin is used to provide anonymity and to work in censored regions of the world, where paypal and credit/debit cards are not accepted. It seems counter-intuitive that WP is offering users a way to pay in encrypted currency securely and then not offering these same users full functionality to blog using secure encryption.

Is it not possible that WP developers could write a basic stats page which does not require the gravitar gateway for those users who are using secure connections? Users on mainstream browsers could use the standard gateway and a stripped-down option could be used by censored users. Not sure if the reason for it not displaying is due to java or another unsecure graphic which will reveal the users identity and rumble TOR web use to the authorities.

A work-around would be most welcomed.

Thanks again for your time and help.

@tthurts: thank you for your detailed feedback. I’m looking into this further for you.

You mention that you have Javascript disabled. That would prevent the stats page here https://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/ from ever loading. Are you able to view the stats in TOR browser with Javascript enabled?

@jenia Also using TOR Browser, I disabled NoScript and the stats still don’t load. Nothing loads, just a white rectangle under all the tab links.
