I can’t remove these white lines in the middle of my theme

    I love the last one with the darker grey line, that looks really good :D

    And no worries, I couldn’t get on anyway, wordpress seemed to be down for an hour, it just had that ‘we will be back soon’ message so nothing was accessible anyway :) You are incredibly kind to do all of this for me!

    Sitting here looking at the two, I think my preference is to let the sidebar flow all the way to the bottom and center the footer text under the content.

    OK, I’ll put the code together for the line. It’s one of those things I could go either way on. In designs, I’ve done it both ways and it works.

    Here is the link to the new background image I did for the content/sidebar area. Download it to your computer and then upload it to your media library and keep the URL from your media library handy so you can insert it into the code I give you.

    I forgot the link to the image: http://flippintestblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/bg-img.jpg

    OK, #page should now look like the following. Replace the image URL in the background declaration with the URL from the uploaded image in your media library.

    #page {
    background:#ffffff url('http://flippintestblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/bg-img.jpg') repeat-y top center;

    Add the following to #footer

    border-top:1px solid #CCCCCC;

    That should do it.

    Thank you :) For some reason I can’t see a link to the image though?

    I should note that if you try to view that image above in a browser window, you aren’t going to see much since it is only 1px tall and 810px wide, but it is there.

    Oh I see it, I will try that now :D

    How do I save the image? When I open it I can’t seem to find the right spot on it to right click and save lol and I can’t save it from right clicking the link either. Is there another way?

    From your browser file menu, just select save as and then save it to your desktop or wherever you wish to save it.

    You could also right click on my link in the post above and download it that way.

    Ok, I tried that but for some reason it looks like these 2 screen shots. If I don’t put the link in the page part then the footer line works correctly but when I put the link in page it goes all funny as you can see :) And the side bare background turned white again.

    Hmmm, OK replace all your CSS with this which I just copied out of my test blog

    #page {
    background:#ffffff url('http://flippintestblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/bg-img.jpg') repeat-y top center;
    #header {
    #headerimg {
    background:transparent url('http://flippintestblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/cropped-raindrops-of-sapphire-logo-2.jpg') no-repeat scroll center top;
    #sidebar {
    #sidebar ul,#sidebar ul ol {
    margin:0 0 0 10px;
    #footer {
    border-top:1px solid #cccccc;
    .narrowcolumn {

    Then replace my URL with yours in the #page background declaration (the one where it says http://

    YAY! It worked :D Thank you :D That’s wonderful! It’s all perfect now!

    This can be figured out another time but is there a way to get a dark grey border around my whole blog? The thin dark grey line that goes around the whole box area of my blog? It’s there at the moment, it’s like it neatens up the edges if you know which border I mean, or maybe it’s a margin, I’m not sure what it’s called but it’s the thin grey line around everything :)

    Are you talking about around the header/content area?

    Take a look at my test blog, is that what you are talking about?

    I can’t see a test blog but yeah, it’s the grey line on the very far left of the main content column going up vertically then it goes horizontal across the top of the header and then it goes down vertically on the far right of the side bar, it’s like a border encasing the blog and making it look like it has finished edges :) Does that make sense?

    Look here: http://flippintestblog.wordpress.com/ . Is that what you mean?

    I can’t view it just yet as wordpress keeps giving me this message but I will keep trying :)

    Oopsie! We detected a problem. Don’t worry: we’re fixing it right now.

    I see it and yeah :D That’s the border I mean :D

    Yeah, I’m getting that too.

    Add this to #page and see if it gives you what you want.

    border:2px solid #999999;

    You can change the color and also the width. I just popped 2px in for an example.
