I created a static front page, but where's my header tab for the "Posts" page?

  1. I created a static front page, but not header tab is displaying as a link to my "Posts" page. It did briefly, but disappeared within a few hours.

    I followed the instructions on the WordPress Front Page support page, here:

    I left the "Posts" content blank and gave it no parent. This should cause it to appear in the header bar. And it did, though not immediately, for awhile. Four hours after I published the page, I noticed that the posts tab had disappeared. So I checked the page to make sure I hadn't given it a mom or dad accidentally. Nope. It's still parentless, and therefore should be creating a link or tab in the header bar. It's not doing so.
