I created a subpage, but won't appear nor its contents under the home page, why?

  • I created home page and then a second page and in the second page attributes choosed it to be a sub-page to the home one. When I click “update” nothing happens. I’m using Sketches theme. Why that is happening?

Also why is not possible to change the font that I use for the writing and in the general layout of my page? If this is really meant to create blogs, how do you expect people to pay you to use your upgrades when you don’t allow them to really write?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Which pages are you having trouble with?

I can see two pages listed in your navigation menu currently: Home and Men’s Attire: Charms of the Past. The first is set to be your static front page and it looks like the second is set to be your blog page.

If you don’t want the latter to display your posts then you should create a new, blank page and call it “Posts” or “Blog” or something similar and then select that page from the Settings > Reading front page options as your posts page. This should then mean that Men’s Attire: Charms of the Past shows the actual page contents when you select it.

Fonts are part of the theme you select unless you upgrade, then you can use CSS or custom fonts. You can also set fonts on a page by page or post by post basis using in-line CSS without an upgrade, it’s just a bit time consuming.

  • Thank you very much for your reply.
I start feeling the way things are meant to work under WordPress. While I’m quick with techie stuff, it seems this time will take me more time to learn the tongue of it. :)

  • No problem at all! If you’re new to WordPress.com (and you haven’t already found it) then the beginner’s guide is a great place to start.

  • Yes, I’m new…. and have a few more newbie questions, if you wouldn’t mind. :)

As I understand by reading the beginner’s guide, pages are pretty much meant to be static and unchanging in time and posts are the ones that change regularly with writing.
I have created five pages in total, this is as much as I need. My Front page is my Home page. And I have my Posts page initially set as The Muse Of Things Beautiful (which is now impossible to get rid of).

When I try to set a different page as the posts’ page with one from the existing ones, the system won’t allow me to, for when I set a new page and save the changes and reopen it, it duplicates its content with the previously set page and it changes its title with the previous one too. I tried many times to set a different page as the posts’ page, but no success. How do I change that?

Also, I’d like to have three of all five pages to be active and to post to each. But as far as I understand there is no way to do this as the system allows for only one page to be set as a posts’ page. Is there a way to change this?

In fact if I could have three pages to post to, I wouldn’t need to be able to rotate the posts’ page every time I need to post, which obviously won’t work.

Could you help with any of that?

Thank you very much for your time and attention.
