I extracted wp theme from zip file but can't get the css positioned to download

I’m trying to install a wp theme on my website. I can get as far as “unzipping” the folder and “extracting all”, but I don’t get the same prompts to follow as the directions I have. So I haven’t been able to “click the one I need” in side the folder and move it so it can be downloaded separately. I have Windows 7. I have never done this before so I cannot even describe clearly what I need, I’m sure. Is there a site that will go step-by-step to show me? Thank you!Pat

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins or third party themes into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

On free hosted wordpress.COM blogs we can only use the themes which have been coded to run on this multi-user software and made available to us here. > Appearance > Themes and no others. We cannot edit either themes or templates on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

If you wish to have complete control over a blog, the ability to upload themes and plugins, and to edit themes and templates then your option is to hire a web host and get a free software install from WordPress.ORG and self host it.

If you aren’t referring to a free hosted WordPress.com blog, but are referring to a WordPress.org install instead, then you are posting to thw rong support forum. We cannot help you here if that’s the case. This is the support forum http://wordpress.org/support/ for that software.
