I get an unwanted extra line of white below a blockquote. I’ve tried everything, but can’t get rid of it. Here’s an excert from my code:

Zandi said $8,000 “seems to have been a sufficiently powerful incentive.”
Congress, suffering from “bailout fatigue.” is unlikely to increase the tax credit beyond the current $8000, most observers agree, despite pressures to do so from the real estate industry.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

The blog I need help with is bostonrealestatemaven.wordpress.com.

Post code between backticks, those little apostrophe-like marks usually on the same key as the ~. So Backtick, all the code, backtick. That makes it display properly.

That’s built into your theme. You can’t alter that other than by changing themes.

Thanks, raincoaster. Can I fix it in the CSS?

If you don’t mind losing the big grey quotation mark, you can write it as a normal paragraph and apply appropriate padding – see here:

Thanks, panaghiotisadam, I’ll try padding left next time. Good suggestion.

You’re welcome. But I mean padding both sides, not left only, and possibly justified alignment as well.

I initially thought both padding-right and -left after reading your suggestion, but then I went back and looked at my post, and it looks as if the blockquote is padded-left only.

What are the tags for justified alignment?

See the post I linked to.

    OK, thanks.
