I want to change my address from SammiPFitMe.wordpress.com to SammiFit.com. I do not have many followers yet, but many have the page bookmarked. If I upgrade to a New Domain (changing title & dropping wordpress from my address) and also upgrade to Site Redirect, will these people lose the bookmarked page and will I lose my followers? I’m only asking because I am not only dropping the “wordpress” from my address, but also changing the title completely.
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your help. I guess I really just want to make sure that if I drop the “wordpress” and completely change the blog name, that people will still be redirected to the new sight if they click on old site information. I believe this will be the case so long as I follow the Domain Mapping instructions? Do I also have to upgrade with Site Redirect feature as well? I hope I’m not confusing….I’m not very computer-literate. :(

The reason we purchase domain mapping is so visitors clicking any .wordpress.com link anywhere on the internet are seamlessly redirected to our content under the domain URL. We see the underlying .wordpress.com URLs on our Admin page for media uplands. Our visitors see only the domain URLs.

Do I also have to upgrade with Site Redirect feature as well?

    No.

edit: visitors clicking any .wordpress.com link anywhere on the internet = visitors clicking any .wordpress.com link to our blog content anywhere on the internet …
