Illustratr – Is it possible to add page wrapper?

    I have set up most of my portfolio galleries but have noticed that when I move from a larger screen to a smaller screen, or desktop to phone, the images in the galleries decrease in size as opposed to the number of columns decreasing in size.

    I see a “wordwrap” element on my page for the text but is there a way to make a content or page wrapper for the image galleries? Is this with settings options, css or do i need to add a plugin? I am using the Illustratr theme.

    Thanks

    The blog I need help with is stacypetty.com.

    I already tagged this thread with modlook for a Staff follow up but I do recommend using live chat. Please do that now.

    That’s a responsive layout theme. https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/responsive-layout

    Additional information:
    The mobile ready theme is a default theme and a completely different theme that you do not need to enable, if your theme is listed as a responsive layout theme here https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/

    The mobile default theme is provided for those who run older themes that aren’t the gold standard which is responsive layout.

    A responsive layout theme adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

    When we use a responsive theme we disable the mobile theme. Go to >Dashboard > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme

    Hi there,

    I have set up most of my portfolio galleries but have noticed that when I move from a larger screen to a smaller screen, or desktop to phone, the images in the galleries decrease in size as opposed to the number of columns decreasing in size.

    I had a look at some of your galleries and wonder if, rather than adding a page wrapper, it’d be best to use media queries to increase the width of the galleries on certain devices.

    You can read a but more about the use of media queries in the following guidance:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css-media-queries/

    As an example, the following media query would change the width of the gallery items to 100% on devices that are 767px in width or smaller:

    @media screen and (max-width: 767px) {
        .gallery-columns-3 .gallery-item {
            width: 100%;
        }
    }

    Let me know if the above works for your needs!

    Thanks for the info on live chat. Yes i use them all the time but I thought they were closed on the weekends. I didn’t realize no response meant they could not respond. I will also try modlook…

    Although live chat isn’t currently available for WordPress.com Premium owners over the weekend, we’re actively working on our weekend coverage and emails you submit via the contact form will be prioritised. I see you sent in a couple of emails yesterday that received replies, for example. :) We’re generally able to respond to you more quickly if you submit your question to one channel.
