I have issues with getting my portfolio projects on the front page of my site (like Illustratr‘s demo site), even though I’ve red

I don’t understand why anything is appearing as on the demo, even after following the instructions :

Create or edit a page, and assign it to the “Portfolio Page Template” from the “Page Attributes” module.
Go to Settings → Reading and set “Front page displays” to “A static page.”
Select your portfolio page as the “Front page,” and then choose another page as the “Posts page,” (to display your blog posts).

    Thank you!

    Hi there!

The instructions for setting up the theme are a little out-dated and referencing our older interface (which you can access by adding /wp-admin to the end of your site’s URL.) Sorry about the confusion caused! I’m going to make a note to the theme’s author to request that they update the documentation.

To assign a page template in our newer interface, head to My Site in the top left of and then choose Pages from the left sidebar:

From the above page, select Edit next to your home page and then click on the Page Options tab on the left. You’ll find the Page Template dropdown menu from there.

To set that page as your static front page, navigate to the Static Front Page panel of the Customizer and then following the steps listed here:

Hope that’s helpful! Please don’t hesitate to let me know if extra questions come up too.
