Images not Resizing on App
I think the title and these two pictures summarise it all. I’m using one post and image as an example, but this is happening to all of them.
I’ve set the width to be relatively low at 120px, so my assumption would be that the image would appear quite small and load fairly quickly: https://prnt.sc/khhacv

I’m running version 10.5.2 on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, which is an Android device. Are there any solutions?

Update: Just realised there’s a contact option on the app…I used that too as I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be posting in the forums or there? Just letting you know in case this is considered a duplicate.

I do not have an Android device to test this with. My first suggestion would be to delete the app, restart the device, and reinstall the app. If the issue continues let us know and I’ll ask @fstat to have a look.
After going through the incredibly frustrating process of doing so and finally figuring out how to reconfigure all the widgets again, it hasn’t made any difference. :(
Also, my tickets have now been deleted upon deleting the app.
I also have v 10.5.2 of the Android app, and the options when I insert an image looks nothing like in your screen shots. If I insert an image and then resize it, it’s also correctly showing that size in the published post.
Can you please tell me the exact steps you’re following to insert and edit the picture?

Regarding the support ticket, I’ll be honest, I’ve always been hesitant using email support which is why I’ve used this forum despite having a paid upgrade. My account settings email is forwarded to my personal so although someone will send an email to my email forwarding address, I’d respond on my personal email, so I’m conscious it just ignores then.
Here’s the steps I do, assuming I’m writing a post and suddenly decide to upload an image:
1. Click the + button on the toolbar
2. Click the images I wish to upload from my device
3. Click the tick on the top right
4. I get redirected back to the post and wait for it to upload and embed
5. Click the image
6. Click the edit button (http://prntscr.com/khzoy5)
7. I then get the screen I showed you (https://prnt.sc/khhacv)
8. Lower the “width” of the image by sliding down the bar
9. Save the image
Sadly though, that doesn’t update the image size, and it still appears full size and takes a while to load.

Before this stage, did you go to Blog Posts and click the + icon (bottom right) to create a new post? It would be good to know exactly how the image is being inserted in order to try and replicate the issue on our end.

I’m also not able to see the screen shown in your screenshots, however, I do run the beta version of the app. Could you make sure to update to the version released today and let us know if you’re still having trouble?
Also what version of Andriod does your tablet run? I’m wondering if that’s the factor that’s missing here. My device is running Andriod 7.
I’m not seeing the new version yet, sorry, but I’ll let you know when I do! I’m running Android 7 (Nougat) too.

Hmm…I just realised. The image screen for editors is different. I was previously using Visual when I sent those screenshots, but having just changed it to Beta now, the images are resizing fine again. I think that might solve it!
Perhaps it’s just Visual which is bugged then?
That is most likely correct. The Visual editor is our legacy text editor for the WordPress app. About 6 months ago, we finalized creating a the new editor which is much lighter weight and much more stable.
We have left access to the older editor in the Android app, as you discovered it can be changed by going to Me > App Settings > Editor and choosing the one that you would rather be using.
We are not longer working on the Visual editor, so as the app continues to evolve, more errors may start happening. I would suggest switching to the Beta editor going forward.

Is the Beta editor the recommended one? It’s probably even buggier than Visual – it just deleted my entire post when I switched to HTML mode. It seems random too, I can’t even recreate it.
