Images not showing up…please help!

    As you can see, I’ve never had a problem with this before. I just posted a blog and maybe 90% of the images have shown up, but random ones have not. They ALL show up while I am posting them, while I am still in my dashboard “Create New Post” page. Then when I go to the site, several are missing and just have that tiny blue square in the middle with the file name. I have even removed them and tried reposting them in other spots and they still don’t work. Again, they work in my dashboard and show up in my post preview there.

    Well, let’s see. Your latest post by itself appears to have over 100 images in it. What exactly did you expect? Most likely your browser is timing out, or your connection. On top of that you apparently have your blog set to display about 12 posts on the main page. Even with my 5mb connection it took over a minute for your page to load.

    First I would suggest better optimization of your images to reduce image file size. I’m seeing virtually all images being over 100k in file size. Optimize them so that they are down around 35-50k in size. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/08/optimise-your-images/

    If you are going to have hundreds of images in a post, set your blog to display only one post per page (settings > reading). You always have to keep your visitors in mind. A large number of people are still on dialup or slow DSL connections (256k) and they simply will not wait for five or ten minutes for your page to load.

    Really. I don’t see ‘rude’ either. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much. I saw a very good response that was technically rich.
