Not really. There’s a plugin to export out a regular wordpress blog but it’s only 2.0 and above. You would have to upgrade to at least 2.0 for it to work. And if you’re doing that, you mind as well go up to 2.1 which has the plugin built in.
For what it is worth, I would at least upgrade to 2.0 before attempting an export. If you are going to at least upgrade to 2.0, then you might as well upgrade to 2.1. It makes the entire process go so much smoother. Really, if you are turfing your own install, then as long as it upgrades the database, then you don’t even have to worry about the ‘templates’ adn the ‘way it looks’!
Then you just export and import into wordpress.com. Much easier upgrading, then adapting 1.5 to export levels…
