I have been trying to import my “new blogger” blog to a blog hosted elsewere, that uses wordpress. I spend hours trying to find a solution and I tried everything including creating a new blog on wordpress.com. That worked fine. I have my files ready in a wordpress.com blog. The problem is that I cannot import to my blog the xml file created by exporting posts from wordpress.com. I have spend all night reading posts and trying solutions by I only get back this message:
The uploaded file could not be moved to /mounted-storage/home51c/sub001/sc35194-EOPX/cybergoneis.gr/wp-content.

Check your file permissions to make sure /wp-content and /wp-content/uploads are writable by the webserver. Not sure why you came to wp.com for the import as the regular software has an importer as well.
You do need to be over at the other site though as that’s the site for supporting the software http://wordpress.org wp.com is a hosting company that uses simular software but is different from the normal version of wordpress.
