I have a website, which is built in Dream Weaver, and want to move it to Word Press. Is it possible to do this and keep the .org address? Is that the $18 a year fee? I have looked at options and can’t figure out what to do.

The blog I need help with is

    Hey there,

It looks like you haven’t registered the domain name yet. You can register the domain through your WordPress blog’s dashboard for $18/year; this will associate the domain with the blog, and allow you to access the blog via the domain.

Do note, however, that you will still be limited to the constraints of the platform. For instance, you won’t be able to upload any custom content you’ve created using Dreamweaver or a similar tool.

If you let me know whether you’re looking to associate with, or with a new blog, I’d be happy to let you know the steps you’ll need to take.

I have not registered the domain name yet. First I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade and have my WordPress blogs url or does it have to be a .com? I have searched the forum and support and can’t find an answer anywhere. Thank you for your help.

You can register many varieties of domain name, including .com, .org, .net, .us, and .me through’s domain upgrade.
