In the reader section, why is there is a picture up that I don't want to use?
Is this in any way, shape or form connected to your other thread here? https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-is-the-wrong-picture-showing-up-when-i-share-the-link-for-my-blog?replies=6#post-970216
It is a picture I may have accidentally uploaded earlier. But now I have no way to clear it. Other than one pic associated with one of my blog posts, there is only one pic I want to use, and that is for my glavatar, or blavatar. It is the same pic right next to my name. It is as though there are pics hidden in the system somewhere which I can not find to clear. I have spent hours trying to figure this out on my own. I have already cleared my cache and browsers. thanks.
I don’t know if it is related. It seems that it must be. But it is 2 different pictures I am referring to.
If you are referring to a gravatar (avatar/blavatar) image then know this. http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/ If we change an image it does not instantaneously change throughout the internet. Images are cached and do not appear until all the way along the line image caches are cleared.
It’s funny because when I go to paste the link into a facebook message, the correct picture shows up. Then when I hit send, it turns to the wrong picture. I did clear my cache in my browser. I can say though, yesterday it was a totally different picture showing up. But in the reader section, if you can access it, there is a pic of me holding my guinea pig that has nothing to do with anything, lol. I am a perfectionist, so I’m trying to erase it, and I have no means of doing this whatsoever. This is on the same site, so I’m assuming it is not related to the cache.
I’m referring to Facebook’s image cache – not to your browser cache.
While we’re at it (lol), I also cannot save my blog to my favorites anymore. I do have it saved under “wordpress.” But last night it was saving with a cute little pic right next to it, and eventually even had the right gravatar. I don’t know if this is only going out into the community, but I’ve already tried everything I know to do. It would be nice if someone could look underneath the surface of everything and see if there is a giant glitch in my profile somewhere. Thanks again.
Ahhh… this is something I don’t know about. Is it something which I can clear? Or I would think it’s up to them. Far be it for Facebook to ever make a mistake. (;
