Note the Wu Wei theme is not coded to provide a sidebar for widgets – widgets can only be placed in the 3 footer areas. If you wish to have a theme with a sidebar please use the filter in the searchbox in the Themes Showcase at the link I provided above.

I have theme twenty eleven which says it has sidebar but in appearance it says the sidebar is inactive. How do I make it active?

Please note that older themes have sidebars on every page but new ones don’t necessarily.

There is no sidebar on single posts in the Twenty Eleven theme.

    Widgets and No-sidebar Layout
Twenty Twelve loves the no-sidebar look as much as you do. Use the optional “Full-width page, no sidebar” page template to remove the sidebar from any page. Want to simplify even more and remove the sidebar from all your posts and pages? You guessed it! Simply remove any active widgets to the Main Sidebar area and the sidebar will disappear.

I have the same problem as rosaliesquires !!!
How can we do? This theme accept normaly sidebar !!

If you choose to have a page based blog and them choose to have the “default template” rather than the “sidebar template” in the Page Attributes module then no sidaber will be displayed on the Pages. Are you clear on that?

Is there a way to change the template in mass rather than change each page from ‘default’ to ‘sidebar’ template?
