Infinite scroll on how many themes?
Thanks for the quick reply, timethief. I’m frustrated to say the least, as are my interns. I understand the infinite scroll feature has been or will be implemented on across the board but might anyone know if there is any premium theme which might remain exempt? Are WordPress.org sites subject to this (catastrophic) revision as well? Thank you in advance for you help, and patience.
if there is any premium theme which might remain exempt?
Not that we are aware of. Volunteers don’;t have access to premium themes and have no knowledge of them.

Ummm … you don’t understand. All free hosted WordPress.com bloggers are guinea piss. The new versions of WordPress under development are introduced here first as WordPress.com as is on “early release” and that means we experience continous rollout of new features and functions and feature and function upgrades. Every day Staff here make many changes to the code here and 1 month or so after we guinea pigs have unwittingly been used as “testers” the vew version of WordPress are released to WordPress.org bloggers.
WordPress.org bloggers can use plugins and other means to divest their sites of unwanted features. WordPress.com bloggers cannot do that. Unless Staff provide an opt-out or we bloggers find a workaround we are stuck with what we get.
Premium themes may or may not be safe; you would need to ask staff about that. WordPress.org sites are safe from theme-related tinkering since you will have absolute control over which themes are installed and how they are configured.
Do I have to check any settings to enable the infinite scrolling on Enterprise theme?
No it will be implemented by Staff.
I don’t think Enterprise has yet been adapted to infinite scrolling. It appears they are working with the some of most popular blogs first, then presumably will be working down the list to older and less used themes.

timethief, letting me know that wordpress.org bloggers can remove features with plugins is the answer I was hoping for … understanding aside. Best thanks.
Hi all. The Bueno theme caught a display bug that was separate from infinite scroll. The bug was introduced on 3/17 and fixed on 3/19. Sorry for the troubles with Bueno!
The current plan for infinite scroll is to add it to all the themes that it will work with, including premium themes. You can keep an eye on which themes are updated along the way by checking out http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/infinite-scroll/
It isn’t on the new premium themes, though, which seems odd. Good, but not exactly in keeping with the stated policy.
In spite of the anti-option policy, you do need to provide an opt-out for premium theme users. Some premium theme users are going to love infinite scroll. Some are not. Most of them will have invested in their theme on the understanding that it is going to continue to look and function as it did when they first bought it, and messing around with it without their prior knowledge or permission is not going to play well. They paid for their theme; the least you can do is pay them the courtesy of chosing whether they want this new feature rather than forcing it upon them. That, or add footer widgets to any theme which doesn’t already have them. (Added bonus: you get to claim this as another theme improvement.)
