Inquiry from WeLearn

  • Dear Sir/Madam,

This is Chung writing on behalf of WeLearn (welearnhku.wordpress.com), a HKU-based student empowerment project. We are exploring if there could be room of cooperation, between WordPress and us.

WeLearn Education program‎me is the first student-led program of the kind, impacting the society through The University of Hong Kong student talents. WeLearn aims to serve junior secondary school underprivileged students which focuses on arousing their interest in learning and helping them to boost confidence in speaking in English. Our program is composed of a set of diverse and fun academic classes and activities in an encouraging and English-only environment.

As for our first term, we serve 50+ participants of which 26 are students from 7 different schools. Our wordpress site reached over 14k viewers without paying a penny on advertisement. With the help of university media and incubation we have covered more than 70% of the university population is composed of 24k+ people.

In order to start our second term, we are hoping to scale it up, to launch a region-wide marketing campaign. In order to do so we need a business premium plan, which unfortunately is not covered by university funding. We wonder if WordPress can help to sponsor this social project.

Sponsoring WeLearn does not only enhance Wordpress s portfolio but also enables the brand to have a decent exposure on campus and in the HK community. Our programme also fits with the image of the brand as we encourage students to be innovative, creative and think out of the box.

Please let us know what is in your mind, and hopefully we can work out a plan together!

    Best regards,
    Chung
