Inserting and Processing Video

I understand all of this but let me reiterate.

I purchased Videopress in September and have been uploading .mpg files from my Edius video editor for 4 months without issue. I have been following the same steps everytime, exporting from my video editor to my computer, than uploading into wordpress and posting in my blog.

Something happened between December 28th and December 29th where my videos could not be properly uploaded by Videopress. I have not changed anything in my routine and have not messed with any of my settings. Hence, my confusion.

Is Videopress working for others? There have been a couple that have experienced the same issues as me but are there are other users that have had no issues uploading?

    Thanks.

Okay, I exported my videos at the H.264 Video/AAC audio setting you suggested and it worked so it must be an issue with the formats that I’ve tried already. I’ll continue to export in the working format but would like to know if the .mpg format can no longer be used.

    Thanks.

I had the same problem with WMVs that I uploaded Tuesday, 12/28, and today. In both cases the uploads proceeded normally, but when I tried to embed them there was no shortcode or “Insert into post” button displayed. In the first instance, the video was said to still be processing the following day. I echo scoreottawa’s experience in that I created these files using the same procedure I’ve been using for more than a year.
Both times I converted the files to AVI and was able to upload and embed successfully. I would suggest this as a work-around. The unsuccessful WMV from today is still there (ebenezerlutheranchurch.wordpress.com) but I’ve deleted those from 12/28.

Just want to add that in at least one instance I do recall catching a glimpse of the shortcode on the screen immediately after the upload completed. But it was not showing when I attempted to insert the video into a post, nor was it available when I looked at the file later via the library. I’m assuming that having the shortcodes would not have done me any good, since all of these WMVs seemed to get stuck in processing limbo.
    Thanks and happy new year!

I have uploaded a video almost 3 hrs back but still its displaying “This video is being processed – It will be ready in about a couple of minutes” . I don’t know <u>”Couple of minutes”</u> means how long !!! I am uploading and wmv file, I can download the file from my site and can see it perfectly, still why still processing ?

It looks like our system isn’t recognizing the files as actual videos, which typically usually means that you’re using a proprietary codec, but our system should actually be able to decode these files.

We’re looking in to it. For now, does your software have another way to encode these files, like possibly a “web safe” or “compatibility” mode?

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Hi,
As Of now I am sharing the video with some other source, But I will looking forward a quick resolution from your side to use VideoPress, other wise there is no use of VideoPress upgrades for me .
    Thanks !

Cross posted from the other thread on this issue. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/video-being-processed-never-does?replies=10#post-541917

This is just a suggestion. Perhaps the time has come for all of those posting to this thread to create support tickets containing all their details and use the contact link to send them to Staff. Posting here does not expedite getting Staff attention, and IMHO placing all your details in a support ticket may be a better way to go. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

We made some major updates to the VideoPress system that actually expanded our acceptable codecs and formats. Unfortunately, there appear to have been some casualties along the way and we’re still working on fixing it without losing everything that we added.

I have been trying to load an AVI file for more than 6 hours. I tried re-loading it and the same thing happens. It just it needs some more minutes to process.

And, just tonight, I bought an upgrade for $50.00. My payment was processed promptly – I wish my videos would process as promptly
