My name is Manolis, I am 34 years old and I come from Greece. At my professional website which is http://www.sustainablewriter.com I have an articles section. There I have inside links to my articles which I have written as site pages. The point is that when I am not logged in as administrator and browse the site as simple viewer the links don’t work (it says page not found). However, when I am logged in as administrator the links work fine. Any ideas why this happens?
Thank you for your help!
The blog I need help with is sustainablewriter.com.
Thank you for your reply! You are absolutely right about the URL.
The point is that I want the links to my articles at the portfolio page to be like site pages but I don’t want these site pages to be actually published as tabs at the site. Every time I write one of my articles as a site page and publish it it appears as a separate tab.
Do you know what I mean? Do you have any ideas?
I think I know what’s going on. :)
First, you are posting pages, rather than posts. If you mean to publish your content as part of a blog (with dated articles) you will want to use posts.
This document explains the difference:
By default, pages will be added to your menu. If you do wish to create pages and not have them show up in the menu, you can create a custom menu displaying only the pages you want to appear in the menu. See this information for how to create a custom menu:
Finally, by saving the post/page as a draft, only people who are logged in to your blog will ever be able to see them. You will need to publish this content for it to be visible on the internet as a whole. Hopefully my tips above will help you resolve your issue so you can publish the content without further problems. :)
Hello and thank you for your reply!
You are right. I have created a custom menu with the pages I want published and the problem is solved.
Thank you once again!
You’re welcome. I’m glad I was able to help. :)
