Installing a Theme

Hello, I just bought a WordPress account for my friend, I also setup their domain and hosted it through WordPress. However when I go to appearance — Themes, there is no tab to install a theme.

I have another WordPress account, that I hosted my URL through Dreamhost and the tab is there. Why would it not be there NOW through the site that I hosted the .com URL through WordPress?
    Blog url: http://samanthasunderhuse.wordpress.com/

The blog I need help with is samantha-sunderhuse.com.

I’m sorry, but themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org (your blog hosted on Dreamhost appears to be self-hosted, that’s why you have the Install option there). Please see here for more information about this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

You may use any of the 200 available themes we have under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard, and you may want to look into purchasing the Custom Design Upgrade to customize one of the themes we offer:

You can also post suggestions for new themes on our public user forum. Please see here for details: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-use-the-themes-forum

Well that is really unfortunate considering I bought the upgrade, and hosted a .com site. I’m definitely going to want a refund. Had no idea of this. I just bought it last night.

Can you link me to a page or more preferably get me a phone # I can contact someone to refund it. I would prefer to host it though Dreamhost then, and do the WP install through Dreamhost. I just figured if I do it through WordPress it would be easier. Guess not :(

    Thank you

Your bundle included a domain registration.

If you’d like, I can cancel and refund the rest of the bundle for $73.

As for the domain, if we cancel the domain, it can take up to several weeks, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again once canceled.

If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it.

Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.

Of course, I can also cancel and refund the bundle and domain for the full $99 if you don’t mind the chance of losing samantha-sunderhuse.com.

Please let us know how you’d like to proceed!

I do not mind taking the chances on loosing the domain. I can use another. I would like the full refund so I can fully host through Dreamhost like I’ve done in the past thank you for your help.
