Internet Explorer 8: Videos appear as "black box" and aren't playable anymore

    Hello,
    Since yesterday all my videos are displayed as a “black box” on my blog,
    without a still picture, and the videos aren’t playable as well anymore.
    Even when I visit other wordpress blogs – the videos there are displayed as a “black box”.

    This problem solely occurs in INTERNET EXPLORER 8.
    All videos show up perfectly with Firefox and Google Chrome.
    Windows Internet Explorer 8 still works fine on YouTube directly,
    as well as on all other sites – except wordpress blogs.

    Is there a current malfunktion of showing and playing videos with Internet Explorer 8 on wordpress ?

    There are 3 videos in your 3 latest posts and all work in Firefox 8 and in IE8 for me. This suggests you have connectivity issue or another issue.

    How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
    Try using the opposite.

    Do you have third party cookies enabled on your browser?

    Do you have JavaScript enabled?

    I am very glad that it works at your side :-)
    Way of connecting is DSL, JavaScript is enabled, no changes concerning cookies…
    BUT – we will make a complete system check tomorrow again.
    It’s obvious now that the problem must be on my side here…

    Before you go this may do the trick. Try resetting your router and modem.

    It was a small damaged part of the system software… difficult to find :-)
