Is changing theme risk-free?
Is it risk-free to change theme after having added posts? I know, that’s the beauty of databases, but still… I have the Quentin theme and my blog is maximilion.wordpress.com .
I’m sorry if this has been asked before, but no Search box appeared. Latest Opera version here.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean by risk free but not all themes have widgets and not all themes are designed exactly alike with exactly the same features. However, the data is retained so if you don’t get what you want you can change again. Go for it – life is all about risk taking ;)
I had no problems with changing themes several times last Sunday.
It might seem weird to your readers, however.
You can open two or more browser tabs (or windows) and keep your old theme on one while putting up and comparing various themes on others. If you want to stay with your old or any particular theme, then choose it again last, because it is the one that you last chose that will be your theme.
The only thing I’ve noticed is that we used to have to resave widgets after changing the theme to get them to show up and I believe that’s been fixed.
One of the positives for not being able to edit your own theme. When I change my themes, I’ve got to go through a list.
I just changed the theme on my Bengali blog and am getting an error message since then :(
It might be helpful to others to know which theme you began with and which one you changed to. It would also be helpful to know exactly what you were doing that produced the error message and what exactly the error message said.
Hi, I changed my template from Contempt 1.0 to Ocadia. I also added a widget to the side bar after that. Since then I am getting an error message whenever I am loading the page. It says something like ‘draggables.drags[…] element id’ is null or not an object and gives this URL: kholamone.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets.php
Can someone help me sort this out or can someone in the admin do it for me please? Thanks a ton!
Is the page working for you though?
What browser and version are you using?
Is there anyway you can get the actual error?
Best bet would be to send in a feedback with all of the information.
