Is it possible to add a shop to my (WP) ClassiPress site?

As I am presently operating on a shoestring (i.e., virtually non-existent budget) and simply cannot afford to keep my (presently non-lucrative) (WP) ClassiPress Classified Ad site up and running, etc., plus make any further purchases in an endeavor to make it a paying proposition.

Is it at all possible to add a FREE (Word Press compatible) store theme to my ClassiPress website, install a FREE payment-gateway, and use my FREE (South African based and oriented) PayFast account to receive payments for purchases?

Any help you may be able to provide in this regard is much appreciated.

    Thank you.

We can’t help you with ClassiPress. We here only do support for blogs hosted at WordPress.com, and for those, you can’t add ecommerce functionality.

E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by WordPress.com. On free hosted WordPress.com blog we can use a contact form and/or a PayPal donation button for sale of only products created and/or services provided by ourselves.

There is no upgrade you can purchase from WordPress.com that changes any of that. If you do require an eCommerce site, advertising, affiliate links, paid or sponsored content you can hire a web host and get a free software install from http://wordpress.org
