We want our facebook and twitter widgets to appear on the page at all time. On the sidebar it remains stationary. Is it possible to put one in the bottom of a post?

The blog I need help with is radiusgrp.wordpress.com.

No it’s not possible. Widgets can only be placed in sidebar or footer widget areas. They cannot be embedded into and/or used to populate Pages or Posts.

Is the footer area just the very bottom of the entire page?

Every theme has areas designed to have either sidebars or footer areas or both. Your theme is Confit and the detailed theme description is here > http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/confit/
It has a sidebar only. The sidebar width is 222. It’s accessed here > Apperance > Widgets

If your aim is to add a copyright notice to the bottom of the blog then that can be done provided your purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing. You place the copyright notice in a text widget and use position absolute to have the text display in the footer.
