Is there a glitch between the free platform and hosted platforms?
I have been experiencing major difficulty when trying to comment and like on other WordPress sites. The sites that I experience these problems on are all sites that do not include .wordpress.com as part of their domain name. There have been times when I had to log out of WordPress in order to comment on the posts. It is frustrating and complicated and I often choose to not post a comment at all as a result.
The blog I need help with is humaninrecovery.wordpress.com.
Are you aware of the differences between WordPress.com blogs and WordPress.org blogs? The two require two separate logins. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you are referring to free hosted WordPress.com blogs on their own domains please provide URLs so we can help you address this issue.
My understanding is that the WordPress.com blogs are those that someone pays a premium to have their personal domain name only and the WordPress.org blogs are where the blog owners are using WP as the platform for building their own blogs. I’m really new at this and don’t understand a whole lot about the technical and programming aspect behind blogging.
I don’t seem to have any issues with other blogs that are set up like mine is as a free blog on WordPress.com. And the issues that I’ve had seem to be only when I interact with a WordPress blog that doesn’t have wordpress as part of their domain name.
I didn’t realize that there are two separate logins with the different systems. I just thought WordPress was WordPress and if I’m a registered user in the WP system, it links to my profile if I’m logged in.
Is a blog where I went to click “like” and nothing seemed to happen. When I went down to the comments, It didn’t show that I was logged in. I clicked the WP icon and it logged me in and I was able to comment, but still not “like.”
Your understanding is not correct. All blogs here are free and are free hosted. If we wish to we can choose to purchase a domain mapping upgrade then it and other upgrades are available to us. Please read this comparison so you are clear on the differences.

Note that WordPress.org and WordPress.COM are completely separate and have logins.
The link you provide is to a free hosted WordPress.com blog and if you are logged into WordPress.com and nothing happens when you click a like button or try to leave a comment that indicates you have a browser related issue.
If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
