Our blog site is used for communication and recruitment for our service group, primarily teens ages 12-18 in our local area. Is there a way to set ads viewed on our blog site to “G” rated. I was offended by the ones on the page when viewing a recent post. If it is not possible to keep ads age appropriate for our readers, we will have to find a new site for our main page.
    – thanks.

I don’t want to have to pay simply to keep filth off of our web page.

No there is not. If you feel an ad is inappropriate please take a screenshot of it, http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ upload it into your Media Library and return to this thread to let Staff know what the file name is.

WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/ in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.
