Is there a way to disable snow now so it won't happen next year?

    I have not had the snow problem on my free wp blog till now (though have had it on blogs I visit/subscribe to), but now I have a paid wp blog, and it’s my understanding that next year, come December, it will start snowing until I opt out.

    I read this thread about disabling it:

    And others of its ilk.

    However, when I look at Settings, I don’t see anything about “Let It Snow,” so I’m wondering if it only shows up in December? I would really like to be able to prevent this on my own blog and also tell other people how to opt out on their blogs. I wrote this post about why it’s so important to me:

    It only shows up in December, and by default it’s off, so if you don’t want to enable it, just don’t do anything.



    Ah. I think the problem is that I’m posting at and should be posting at I’ve heard from friends who have self-hosted WP blogs that it just starts up on its own, that they don’t enable it. I’ll try there. Thanks.
