It changed my theme
When I tried to upload a background image, it changed my theme to the selected theme of the day, so I selected one that does not show the sidebar on secondary pages and took away my links widget. How do I keep this from happening again?

Your blog is private and we Volunteers cannot view it. We don’t have a clue what you have done or which themes were included. What we do know is that what you describe is not normal behavior. Selecting a background at ? Appearance > Background is not even done on the same page where we change themes. > Appearance > Themes
You can go here Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and select a theme and activate it as many times as you choose to. No data is ever lost when changing themes. After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
Sorry, I can’t launch this blog for public use without running it by another. I wish I had written down the prior theme or could just turn back time to yesterday because it worked better. I reinstalled my widgets on Theme twenty-eleven but it won’t show my sidebars on pages other than “home.” Ideas on how I can fix this?
There are 3 privacy settings and one blocks search engines.
Not all themes display sidebars on every page. That’s characteristic of older themes, not newer themes. It’s not desirable to have sidebars on every page in a blog from an SEO perspective. There is no sidebar on single posts in Twenty Eleven. Thanks, I found my old theme, “Comet” and everything is back to normal. One more question and my site will be ready to launch. When you add a link to a post, there is a way to make the target a new window. I can’t do that when I add links to my custom menu for a sidebar widget. Advice?
