I've been locked out of my blog!

  1. Hello. This relates to the site I'm the owner of this site, and went to login recently when I realised the password had been changed.

I requested several password resets by username, but didn't receive an email, so I requested a password reset by email address instead. The email address associated with the site is [email redacted], and I still receive notifications to this address.

However, asking for a password reset sent me a link to *this* account (kirstylogan). Kirsty Logan is one of the three people who the [email redacted] email address forwards to, but she's not the owner of the site, and she has her own WordPress blog, not associated with this account. She also assures me she hasn't done anything to the blog.

There doesn't seem to be any way to get in to any more, and I'm slightly concerned that the password seems to have been changed

I urgently need to access the site and update it ahead of a coming event. Can someone let me back in, please?

  2. I'll tag this for staff attention since they are the only ones that can look into things and let you know what is going on. Hopefully they will be around soon.

  3. Thank you!

  4. Also, the username associated with the blog is wpmglasgow, not kirstylogan. Kirsty's WordPress site is a .org - she thinks she may have set up a .com account years ago to get a spam plugin, but if so hasn't used it for many years.

  5. That blog belongs to a hel[...] (at) email address.

Do you have access to this email address?

  6. Well, that's Kirsty's email address. And she didn't have anything to do with setting up the blog, and has only logged into it once. I certainly didn't set the site up with Kirsty's email address; I used info [at], which pertains to that site. Is there a reason why the two things have swapped round without either of us intending them to? And if I get Kirsty to log in to the site and change the email addresses back, could it be stopped?

  7. The account was originally registered with the email address, but its email address was changed to the email address later.

It looks like you have already changed it back to

    Are you still having trouble?
