Japanese posts to display proper characters

    Here is how to display Japanese characters in a post on an English character site.

    Remove or comment out this statement in the config.php file:
    define(‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’);

    Your Japanese characters will look correct. That’s all you need to do. Other alphabets will probably work too.

    The blog I need help with is karlazz.wordpress.com.

    You know what? That won’t work here: we don’t have access to the php.

    WordPress.COM by default is set up on UTF-8 character encoding unlesss you specifically change it.

    Go to settings > reading and make sure that at the bottom of that page under “Encoding for pages and feeds” it says UTF-8 just like that with the uppercase letters, the dash and then the 8.
