Keeping Content ie - Header Photo when switching themes

  1. I just want to know if there's a way to transfer certain content when you change themes. I don't have the image anymore that I'm currently using as my header for my blog. I can't copy and save it off the webpage either and I don't want to lose it when I change themes. I changed themes on my other blog and I lost the custom made header (which I also no longer have) and I don't want that to happen to my primary blog.
    Any help?

The blog I need help with is

  2. All images are in your Media library and when you switch themes they are still there. However as each header image is a specific size for each theme it's best to create an upload an image header images that "fits" whichever theme you choose to use. If you create and upload a header image that's either too large or too small for the theme you switch to and the cropper comes into play image quality will be lost. To recover an header image from your Media Library simply locate it in the library and "save as" the image to your own computer where you can resize it to fit the new theme prior to uploading it.

  3. For a list of custom image header sizes for the themes available see here >

As header image of your primary blog is here: and full size
Contents are never lost, if you don't them by yourself.

  5. Yeah, that "mockup.jpg" is the new one I had to create for my secondary blog after I accidentally activated a new theme and lost the old header.
I tried locating a Media Library, but I wasn't sure what I was looking for to see what I've uploaded previously. I'll go try to find that and see what I can see. Wish me luck (I'm not too smart sometimes.)

  6. Provided you did not delete it from your Media Library it will still be there. Happy hunting. :)

  7. Okay, yep I found it. Thanks everyone! Whew...

  8. That's great news. Best wishes with the theme change and the blog too. :)
