  1. I have a blog hosted on and right now I can't self-host it to add plugins. But it is extremely important for me to be able to change the language on my blog for my readers. So I want to write all my posts in portuguese (my mother tongue) and then let my readers be able to shift between portuguese and english quickly. So I can understand why you cannot let people install plugins on the WordPress platform, but this kind of tool would be really helpful not only for me but for a lot of other users.

  2. Google translation widgets are Javascript and it's stripped out to preserve security on this mutiuser blogging platform. There is no FTP access and we cannot install plugins because this is a multiuser blogging platform ie. our blogs are not free standing and there are security issues that would arise if that access were allowed. I have translation on my blogs. There are two workarounds and you will find them here >

  3. If those do not suit you, you can write a blog post in the two languages and then post the two versions of the entry on the same blog, make each language category, create a custom menu and add the categories pages to it.
