Leaving Site Ground

For a couple of years I have have my blog hosted by Site Ground. The price has gone up tremendously, so I am dropping Site Ground and will be publishing on Word Press as I did when I first began. Can anyone tell me if I need to do anything to restore my blog, keep the posts I have made in these two years, perhaps move them to my original word press site??? or, will I not have any complications in continuing to write? Thanks

The blog I need help with is geraldfordcounsel.wordpress.com.

    Hi @geraldfordcounsel.

    As I understand it:

    • You have a self-hosted WordPress blog with Site Ground.
    • You had a previous blog here at WordPress.com.
    • You would like to use the previous blog here and import posts from the Site Ground blog to it.

Does that cover what you are trying to do?

If your blog with Site Ground is a WordPress site, you should be able to export the posts there and then use the import function here at WordPress.com to add them to your site that is hosted here.

You can read more about the process on the “Moving from a Self-Hosted WordPress to WordPress.com” support page.
