Length of a post and pictures

I am unsure about generally what should be the length of a post in general topics? If I need to insert related images, headings. Generally I do not have images related with the writeup.

I also run a blog http://phoxis.org having tech and computer science stuff where i never barred the length of the post and many of them ran as long as 5000 words or more, which was not a problem in those topics.

I am not into writing non-tech stuff much, therefore I am unsure about the length.

The blog I need help with is ringlevel0.wordpress.com.

I don’t think there’s a limit – official or otherwise – indicating how long a post should be. Unfortunately there’s not a way to figure out if you’re losing readership because people think your posts are too long. If it were me, I’d err on the side of caution and do no more than 2500 words if this is a non-tech related blog. After you get a few followers, ask them point blank if 2500 words is still too much or if they are bothered by length. If you maintain 2500 words for a while with no following at all, then perhaps consider chopping things up a bit. As far as images go, just keep them as small as possible.

I am now running around 1000 words per article with almost no pictures, so I am well below your critical mark. It’s difficult to estimate readership and the blog is still new.

Thanks for the answer @bluejeanfemme , I will ask the existing followers about the length they are comfortable with,
