Limiting the number of posts per page

I’ve tried to go into the Settings > Reading, and limiting the maximum number of posts to display to 3. I save and it says the changes were saved, but my blog is still showing ALL of my posts on the front page. Load time is slow and there is a ton of scrolling. How can I fix this?

Your site seems to be displaying as described.

    Are you still having trouble?

I think I figured it out… It seems to only work with some templates? I was using the twenty eleven template and with that, it was displaying every post. When I switched to the one I have now, it shows the 3 I limited it to. Is this right? Or is it supposed to work with every template?

With Twenty Eleven we recently launched Infinite Scroll, which makes it easier for your readers to see older posts by just scrolling down, rather than clicking next/previous links.

Ahhh. That makes sense. Is there a way to turn this off?

Not at this time, but we are looking into a way to do this.
