[Linen] Search widget breaks out of footer

  1. I wonder why no one else has reported this already, but it seems in the Linen theme the search widget breaks out of the footer. At least in Firefox 26.0.

You can see it at Just scroll to the end of the page. :)

The blog I need help with is

  2. Hi Martin,

All seems to be good here in FF 26 (screenshot)

  3. Hi Jennifer,

hmm... that's strange. I immediately gave it another go. The search bar definitely breaks out of the footer. I've even restarted Firefox 26.0 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with disabled addons. See my screenshot below:

  4. Hi Martin - Huh, that's odd. I don't see it in FF 26, either, but I'll keep my eye out for other reports of this. Thanks for letting us know!

  5. Hi Martin, do you only see this running Linux, or do you see it on any other operating systems as well?

I also am not seeing this on Mac or IE, but perhaps it's a Linux-only glitch. Thanks.

  6. Hi Kathryn,

Unfortunately I don't run any other operating system than Linux. So I can't test it. But given the posts from Elizabeth and Jennifer, it really seems like a Linux-only glitch. Otherwise it's an issue limited to my system. But like I said, I've even restarted Firefox with disabled addons and the search widget still breaks out of the footer.

I've also tested Google Chrome (Version 31.0.1650.63) on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and everything looks fine. So far only Firefox seems to be affected.

  7. Thanks for checking Chrome. One of our developers running Ubuntu was able to replicate the issue so I'm putting in a bug ticket for this issue in Linen and will keep you posted here. Thanks for the report!

  8. Thanks Kathryn. :)

  9. Howdy Martin!

Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention. The theme developers have made a slight change that should help the display of the search field for Linux/Firefox. I hope this helps!

    Cheers, Caroline

  10. Hi Caroline,

I can confirm this has been fixed. Looks fine now under Ubuntu 12.04/Firefox. I'll mark this topic as resolved then. :)

    Cheers, Martin
