Link doesn't display correctly

I have tried and tried to add links from Amazon to my blog and am getting increasingly frustrated! I have exhausted support from Amazon :( When I copy and paste directly from Amazon the link either does not appear at all or appears only as the code I’ve copied rather than a text and/or image link. When I try to add a link through the editing process the link shows correctly but clicking takes me to a blank page. I’ve cleared cookies and cache and looked as much as I can in support. Help would be much appreciated. I’ve used affiliate links from other companies with no problems. Is is that I need to upgrade my blog??

    Thanks in advance,

The blog I need help with is

This blog is empty Which blog are your referring to please?

There is no upgrade, aside from a VIP hosting upgrade that you can purchase that allows blogger initiated advertising on a free hosted blog. You will have to hire a web host and set up your own install to run your own advertising.

The software is stripping the code out as there are no Amazon stores allowed and in fact no blogger initiated advertising of any kind is allowed on a free hosted blog.

There is only one advertising program called WordAds at and it’s for blogs on their own domains. Aside from a blog being accepted into WordAds no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work or products created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted blogs.

E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by Paid content and/or sponsored content is not allowed.

The only very narrow exception is found here in italics:

Blogs that violate our advertising policy or fall into one of the following categories are not allowed on
Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category. Here is a thread in the support forums that talks more about which affiliate links are OK or not OK.

On free hosted blog we can use a contact form and/or a PayPal donation button for sale of only products or services created or provided by ourselves.

I’m sorry about the duplicated paragraph above. That was unintended.

Thanks for your reply. I had no idea what I was attempting was not allowed, so I’ve removed the links and am looking into where I go from here. The blog I refer to is (not sure how you got the link to the empty one). There are some affiliate links in previous posts, but these are connected to book reviews which were written completely independently by me.

Thanks again for taking the time to put me straight!

One affiliate link in a book review is permissable according to staff. What’s not permissible is blogs set up to drive affiliate sales, paid reviews, advertising, etc.

    Thanks, raincoaster
