Linking to Google
Where do I insert the code from my Google+ business page to link my WordPress site to Google+? It keeps telling me to insert a short line of code, but I can’t figure out where I’m supposed to insert it in WordPress. I’m am not at all tech savvy. Thanks in advance for the help and for not laughing at me.
The blog I need help with is editingbysue.wordpress.com.
What code? Is it simply a link to the page? If so, you can put it in a text widget or on your blogroll.
This is exactly what it says:
By adding a short line of code to http://editingbysue.wordpress.com/, you can make your Google+ page eligible to show up on the right hand side of the Google search page for relevant queries and make your Google+ page more discoverable. Learn more
Ask your site’s webmaster to add the following line of code to your site’s homepage:
I have no idea what this means. Where on the homepage do I add it?
I am not sure. Usually you can just put the line of code in a post that shows on the home page, or in a text widget. I’d suggest a text widget, at the bottom of your widget column, and leave the title blank. It’s meant to be active on your blog, and frankly that kind of code is usually stripped out here. Wihtout seeing it, I can’t be sure if it will work or not.
That was it!!! I used a text widget in WordPress and pasted in the code and it worked! Thank you so much!
