List of links
When you add the Links widget to your sidebar, you have the option of sorting it by one of the following:
- Link Title
- Link Rating
- Link ID (a number assigned when the link is created), or
There is no way to manually assign the order of the links in the Links widget. If it’s a small number of links, however, you could sort by Rating (and assign higher ratings to the links you want listed first), or sort by ID, and just create them in the order you want them to show up.
Barring one of those solutions, you could create a text widget and manually create the links there as well.
Thank you, dear andrewcpht!
I did assign the ratings according to the order I want to establish, but the links do not move an inch. How do you reassignate the ID number? They seem to appear in alphabetical order, even if two of them are written in languages using different alphabets (Russian, Greek).
I guess the only possibility is the last one you mention, i.e. the text widget. I´ll have to figure out how to do that…
You can use the “view source code” function of your browser to copy the < ul > unordered list of links. Use the “find” function of your browser to search for the list of links under (for example) Related Journals.
Copy everything from < ul > down to < /ul >into the text editor of a draft post, then arrange the links as you like. Copy and paste into a text widget.
Thanks dear 1tess. I just had forgotten to activate the “sort by link rating” “save”- Done! Everything ok now.
